Me Singing "Follow the Yellow Brick Road" Now

Me Singing "Ding! Dong! The Witch Is Dead" Now

Me Singing "If I Only Had a Heart" Now

If you were in ...

... this remake of The Wizard of Oz, which character would you play?

Me...

The Wicked Witch of the West

Is this actually an ongoing debate, now?

Which would you say is more alluring, playing a little girl in Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory or Dorothy in The Wizard of Oz?

Meticulous Reviewer

In these next 2 clips, the reviewer says this is one of the most famous movies. It's probably due to that it could be remade in future generations and already got a lot of attention.

In the next clip, he states he has "mixed feelings."

He, like other reviewers and posters, says the other books are a good thing to fall back on.

Another common inquiry in things like this is about scenes from the book not all being there.

In the next clip, he announces that the new movie may not be more "faithful to the book" when it's not allowed to just copy the original under this agreement. People often want remakes to be better than the original by following the book more.

In the next clip, he says he wants it to be something he can be excited about, maybe not just another flop that causes any problems.

He says it needs to be great to make the money! It may make money off of the title alone.

He says, even if it's bad, you still have all those books and even other earlier musicals.

Suggested Cast

This was a pretty nice one, think he is Scottish.  He said the lady who played the witch in Wicked should play it in the remake.  She was also the star of Frozen.

my comment

I'm reading the book. I got them all on NOOK. I wish they would get together a good cast and remake the musical as a movie in the next few years. I know it could be less popular, but it's not that hard. Just the spirit of the 1930s won't live with whatever remake they do, possibly.

Cool Review

He also mentioned the related, famous/popular musical Wicked.  The director sounds good, like all people are different, a bit different from yet similar in some spirit to / vibe with Tim Burton.

This guy also would like to see the other books (14 or 15 of them total) worked into movies.  I'm not sure, but I saw a character from other books in a movie of this, too.

Another Bird

Also, remember, Ellen DeGeneres dressed up as Glinda when she hosted the Oscars the 2nd time.

I ticked this movie at the point that made me think of it.

I was so preoccupied by Dorothy that I didn't realize I used to dream of playing the Wicked Witch of the West.

Great Guy, From Louisiana!

I ticked this movie at a peak point, that Wicked! was a crazy popular musical, around the time I graduated from high school, is a/the major determinant factor in remaking The Wizard of OzWicked! is a story I think about characters from The Wizard of Oz, as a musical.  Apparently, it must be about the witch a lot.  I actually did see it live, I believe, don't remember much about it, saw ads too I know.  So, this guy us from Louisiana, as it says on his Twitter as well, where I lived age 12-college.

"'POP' Goes the Weasel!"

This was an interesting video to me, an American man, an American woman (African,) and an English ("British") girl.

I was thinking people just don't want a remake, but I think it's fair grounds we can't do much to configure this.  I've voiced my opinion online about this movie in the past and how it has to be really good if they remake it because just go down some alleyway in a shop in a town and you'll find figurines of the original... and you know where that can go.  It'll pop up out of nowhere!

I also found out here it's off the book I guess, suggested in the last video as well, and they can't just remake the original.  Alice in Wonderland (2010) was very different! from the original, animation, and now it's considered a family friendly classic.

EDIT: The video is 4 minutes long.

Other Adaptations

Did you watch any of the other adaptations?

Tension

Do you think there's still some serious tension out there for who can be a fan and who can't? like with Johnny Depp and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (2005?)

Edit

I edited the start point in the video, in the last post.

Sequels

I watched this video on remakes and The Wizard of Oz.  I ticked it to an interesting point if you want to see.  So, basically, the 1st The Wizard of Oz is good enough that an attempt to recreate something as great is interrupted.  After all, it's of interest for being popular; so, finding something better would mean finding something that tops all these other movies that are out there (meaning any movie and not just The Wizard of Oz remakes) that aren't quite as popular.  Even if someone is overly attractive, they probably aren't fit in an environment like the 1930s, that would draw in the audience of today.

Edit

I edited my last post.

Why?

What do you get when you hear that The Wizard of Oz remake doesn't include the music?  Maybe, it's merely an attempt to do justice to Alice in Wonderland (2010.)  No problem here, just that thought.

I felt also that it's sorta speaking to me like my childhood is finally over, yet I'm like a confused child, in other people's opinions.  I don't fall for anything, though.

In the end, no, it does not support the music, but it seems like a bad thing.  Still, why not?

EDIT:  I don't mean to say they're "bad" in and of itself.  I just meant music is still a good thing.

The Book

I just read the 1st 2 chapters!
